The Tina Posner Career Center at Wayside House helps women overcoming substance use disorders find and sustain employment. In July 2017, the career center launched Second Chances, a social enterprise offering vocational training to women facing significant barriers to employment. Volunteers help us meet our goals by assisting with productivity and have the opportunity to receive various trainings (QuickBooks, Excel, eBay, etc.) alongside Second Chances students. We are flexible with our volunteer hours, however, please note that hours are generally during the day Monday – Saturday. Volunteers are needed in the following areas: Sorting, sizing, hanging clothing donations etc. Monthly boutique sale – Assist with monthly sale (last Saturday of every month) by keeping clothing racks, bins, and sale items organized as customers shop, try on, etc. Social Enterprise – Assist Posner Career Center’s social enterprise students by researching items to sell on online marketplace, measuring and photographing items, etc. This is a great way to learn how to sell on eBay! If you’d like to be of service to this outstanding addiction recovery program for women, by women, please download, fill out and submit it to [email protected] or drop it off at our facility.
