Arielle Kanitz earned a Master of Social Work degree from Florida Atlantic University. With more than seven years of experience working in substance abuse treatment, she has filled many roles. While working at Caron Renaissance, she received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She worked with DBT skills groups and individual DBT sessions, and provided targeted skills crisis counseling. She also has experience and training in running other psychotherapy groups incorporating CBT, Experiential Therapy, Family Systems Approach, Relapse Prevention, and Motivational Interviewing.
During her internship with Palm Beach County Victims Services, Arielle worked with victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and other violent crimes. Through this internship, she gained experience in safety planning, case management, and helping clients navigate the legal system. During her internship at Henderson Behavioral Health, Arielle gained experience working with individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illnesses and has been trained in techniques suited to effectively treat this population.
